About Us
THE CHALLENGE
Every year in Los Angeles County, thousand of pets are taken to animal shelters simply because they drastically outnumber the homes available to them. They spend their last few days in crowded cages before many of them are euthanized. As their lives silently end, thousands more are being born who will endure the same fate.
The long-term answer to the overpopulation problem is to prevent the births of pets who will never have homes and will only know misery during their short lives. We are currently seeking funding to continue our efforts in the spay/neuter field. In the meantime, with your help, we will do all we can to give a future to those who have already been born and abandoned and need our help so desperately. We continue to do so until the day finally comes when animal shelters will be what they were intended to be: a place of refuge.

“Hi, I’m Percy! I just turned 2 years old and I’ve been at Lange since I was only 3 months old. I am such an affectionate boy with a big personality who can’t wait to be adopted! I love getting attention from people, especially in the form of belly rubs. I also value feline companionship and would do anything to find a forever home with one of my friends here at Lange, or in a home with another cat to be my brother or sister!”
Dog of the Month
“Hi, I’m Canicas! I’m a loving, loyal, and energetic boy who has been through a lot in my life before Lange. I like to eat things I shouldn’t, so I ate lots of foxtails which lived in my mouth for a while since my previous owners could not afford to help me. When I came to Lange, I got mouth surgery and have been healing up beautifully! I can’t wait to live in the comfort of a home again with my very own people who will give me the very best care!”

What We Do
Rescue Animals
We rescue cats and dogs from city and county shelters and prepare them for their new forever homes.
Medical Care
Many cats and dogs come into our care needing extensive medical care, specifically surgeries. Thanks to our surgery fund, we are able to provide life saving procedures to those we rescue.
Community Programs
We run intervention programs in San Bernardino and the Antelope Valley where we provide food, supplies, and medical assistance to owners who are struggling to care for their pets.
Spay & Neuter
We supply vouchers to residents of San Bernardino, Palmdale, and Lancaster that cover the full cost over $50 of the procedure.
Gift of Life
A $100 donation to Lange Foundation will help care for an animal that was recently rescued from one of the overcrowded city shelters. Your donation goes toward the high costs of bail-out fees, medical care, and other kennel related expenses. Your recipient will receive a personalized story and photo from one of the rescued pets in our care. Each card is written personally by our founder, Gillian Lange.
Monthly Gift
Monthly donations provide a reliable, consistent income stream and allows us to focus our efforts on saving more animals. With your tax deductible monthly donation, you will be updated on our rescues with a written letter and photo.
